Acupuncture: The GP Story


Acupuncture is a safe treatment option available to healthcare professionals. It is often used for pain management and the treatment of nausea. There is no single model to explain its mode of action and until recently, an adequate control needle was unavailable. This article describes the impact of acupuncture on the NHS and the effect it has had me as a general practitioner, as an enhanced (PMS+) service provider and as a GPSI in musculoskeletal medicine.
